PMR-D2343 Iran, Bisotun: the towering cliffs are carved with a series of famous bas-reliefs dating from 520 BC, carried out on the orders of Darius I after his victory over the Medes. The three-language inscriptions enabled the first deciphering of the cuneiform script. Here: a very eroded Parthian relief of Mithrades, superimposed with an inscription in Arabic from the 17th century.
