Caption: | Iran, Tabriz: Masjed-e- Kabud (Blue Mosque) was built in 1465under Jahan Shah, leader of Qareh Koyunlu Dynasty and was renowned for the quality of its blue tiling. Virtually destroyed in earthquakes of 1727 and 1773, restoration began only in 1973 and continues. The adjacent Khaqani Garden honours the 12th century Azari poet Shirvani Khaqani. |
