Caption: | People's Republic of China, Tibet: Yumbulagang Monastery, said to havebeen established in the 2nd century BC by the first Tibetan king, Nyatri Tsenpo. Later it was used as a summer palace by Songsten Gampo, the 33rd king. It lies about 9 km. south of Tsetang, overlooking the Yarlung Tsangpo Valley.This picture: starting out on the "kora" which passes over an adjoining peak. |
