 Germany, Bayern, Schloss Höchstädt: the castle was built between 1589 and 1602 as a seat for the widow of Count Palatine (Pfalzgraf) Philipp Ludwig von Neuburg. In 1704 over 20,000 men died in the nearby Battle of Blenheim.
The ceiling of the castle chapel has some of the finest Protestant frescos in southern Germany.
