PMR649-03 Libya, Tripolitania: ruins of the ancient city of Leptis Magna. The city was founded by Phoenician colonists about 1100 BC but became part of the Roman Empire when Carthage fell in the Third Punic War, in 146 BC. It became the largest and most prosperous city in Roman Africa. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remains of the Old Forum, enclosed by three temples on the left and a basilica on the right, with an Italian archeologist taking notes.
