PMR015K-24 Iraq: Uruk, the city which succeeded Ur in prsperity and was continuously inhabited from about 4000 BC until 500 AD, where the first writing system (cuneiform) was developed. The 9.5 kilometre-long city wall was built by King Gilgamesh and described in his Epic: the remaining blue, ceramic tiles from about 110 AD in an excavated building.
