Caption: | Iraq, Kalhu or Kalach (now known as "Nimrud"): refounded inthe 13th century BC on ancient foundations by the Assyrians, became the seat of the royal house after Ashur. Details of the burial chambers being explained by Dr Mussachim, who was in charge of the excavations in Nimrud. Over 30 kilograms of gold ornaments have been recovered from this and similar tombs. |
