Built under Caliph Al-Mustansir Billah (1226-1242), it provided lecture halls, library, refectory, baths, student accommodation, hospital with pharmacy, and mosque. The curriculum included Arabic, Theology, Astronomy, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Medicine, and especially, Koran studies.View of the courtyard and colourful minaret from the first-floor gallery. |
