Caption: | Morocco, Telouet: the Palace of Glaoui on the caravan routefrom the Sahara to Marakesh over the High Atlas Mountains was the home of the wealthy Glaoui family. Built in the 1860s and extended in the early 20th century, no cost was spared on the interior decoration. It lies at 1800 metres a.s.l. near the Berber village of Telouet.Cedarwood was used for the carved doors and ceiling frieze and polychrome faience tiles adorn the walls. |
