Caption: | Turkey, Lycia, Simena: The former Greek coastal village of Simena(Turkish: Kalekoy) can only be reached from the sea - there are no roads connecting it to the hinterland, so development is limited, and little has changed since the Greeks left in 1922. About 200 people live here permanently. Crowning the village is a mediaeval fortress, and scattered around the village are numerous Lycian stone sarcophagi. |
