Caption: | Iraq, Kalhu or Kalach (now known as "Nimrud"): refounded inthe 13th century BC on ancient foundations by the Assyrians, became the seat of the royal house after Ashur. Entrance to a burial chamber discovered by Dr Mussachim, who was in charge of the excavations in Nimrud. Over 30 kilograms of gold ornaments have been recovered from this and similar tombs. |
